Jules’s Jukebox: 1980, pt. 4–the Ballads

The year of Air Supply and Bette Midler…okay, maybe not entirely. Ballads in 1980 weren’t all sappy, over the top tunes that today lurk in the realms of guilty pleasure paradise. THe two songs your quarter buys from my jukebox today: One is super ooey gooey and represents all the excess of the era, but the other I loved for it’s peacefulness and love of nature. The first was a final hoorah for a disco mainstay while the second was released in 1979, but didn’t chart until 1980.
