Jules’s Jukebox: Jethro Tull

Keeping with the theme of the soundtrack of my youth, my mom used to play this 45 all the time. “Bungle in the Jungle” is the one Jethro Tull song that I do happen to like. Unlike the Moody Blues, I never took a shine to Ian Anderson and his band. Even though this song is probably among the most “commercial” of his catalog, the layering of Anderson’s flute with strings and more traditional rock n roll guitars, drums, bass gives this song a far more full sound than many of today’s perfunctory “commercial” pop/rock songs.
